DELIVERING VALUE TO THE WARFIGHTER
Reorienting the Process Improvement program has positioned DLA to build a collaborative effort agency wide. Through aligning improvement opportunities to strategic objectives and goals, with increased emphasis on building organic capability, DLA has saved $21.6 million over the FYDP and continues to improve their responsiveness to the Warfighter.
ENTERPRISE-LEVEL STRATEGIC IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
U.S. Army 2012 Best Enterprise Lean Six Sigma Project Award and Best Project Sponsor Award. This was a Department of Army level logistics improvement project with savings of $905M and a 50% improvement in delivery cycle time of mission essential equipment. Resources, systems, knowledge and relationship optimization efforts contributed.
HEALTHCARE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
Applied lean six sigma to reduce variability of Utilization Management (Demand, Case, Disease Mgt.) practices for WellPoint amongst it’s 19 locations across the country and standardized operations to best practice levels with Anthem and Empire BC & BS.
LEAN SIX SIGMA OPTIMIZATION EFFORT
Optimized the U.S. Army Central Command’s Lean Six Sigma program by executing on strategic improvement projects in coordination with U.S. joint forces in a challenging environment. Mission effectiveness and efficiencies were improved and decision support provided for leadership in support of multiple operations. LSS training was also provided to 250+ deployed soldiers to advance the Army’s training goals. Other military lead Lean Six Sigma Deployments include: Defense Logistics Agency, Forces Command, Pacific Command, NAVAIR, US Air Force Global Logistics Supply Chain Wing.
STRATEGY DEPLOYMENT
Conducted SWOT analysis and developed strategy maps and organizational balanced scorecards with multiple clients to include the U.S. Army Medical Command, MedSolutions, etc.
STAFFING OPTIMIZATION
Provided MedSolutions and other clients with staffing analysis and forecasting models to right size the organization and improve quality of service and productivity.
MARKETING OPTIMIZATION
Developed a strategy to optimize customer reach and spend with the various customer segments with all lines of businesses and 7,000 retail outlets for Walgreens.
OPTIMIZATION OF RESOURCES
Identified opportunity to optimize utilization of supplies between transitioning military units. Redisposition millions of dollars in unused supplies, cleared unnecessary containers clogging the theater and improved data quality between supply and transportation systems.
LOGISTICS CONSULTING
Due to the probable closures of key transportation routes, analyzed risk and options to transport retrograde material from Afghanistan through various transportation modes and routes while minimizing cost and optimizing flow to comply with POTUS withdrawal directives.
PREDICTIVE MODELING
Simulated efforts of retrograde operations in Southwest Asia that improved operations significantly (reduction of cycle time & cost) and brought multiple commands together.
ASSET MANAGEMENT
Created agency-wide asset management processes, controls and requirements for the Securities and Exchange Commission. Validated process operations and risk controls through sequential modeling simulations in preparation for new IT systems build.
CUSTOMIZED CHANGE MANAGEMENT TRAINING
Developed and provided customized change management training for the Internal Revenue Service.
KAIZEN PROCUREMENT
Reduction of cycle time to procure products and services For CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.
STRATEGIC LEAN SIX SIGMA CONSULTING AND TRAINING
Provided the U.S. Army Medical Command with consulting of strategic metrics, improvement projects and training from the Office of The Surgeon General to regional commands and local hospitals/clinics worldwide.
